Class Materials:

Failing to bring all class materials will negatively impact student’s classroom participation grade. Repeat offenses will result in parent phone calls and/or Thursday school detention.
Homework Assignments:
Regular homework assignments contribute toward building responsibility and self-discipline, and achieving good learning habits. Teacher-assigned homework should provide students with the opportunity to apply information they have learned, complete unfinished class assignments, and reach classroom objectives.
Note: Students are expected to review class material on a daily basis; practice pronunciation and review grammar exercises even if the teacher did not assign any homework for that day.
Late Work:
All homework assignments will be clearly communicated to students by the end of the class. Furthermore, homework assignments will be posted on teacher class website. Students are responsible for this information even if they are absent the day the work was assigned. Incomplete and late homework will automatically receive a reduced grade of 20% for each class session late.
Attendance/Tardiness:
Daily attendance is essential for optimal progress. Each tardy will result in a reduction in the student’s participation grade for that day. Repeat offenses will result in parent phone calls and/or Thursday school detention.
Class Participation:
Daily class participation is an integral component of this course. Students will be called upon to participate every day but are also expected to raise their hand and volunteer answers in order to earn their participation grade.
Tests/Quizzes:
All tests are announced in advance. However, the instructor reserves the right to give unannounced quizzes as necessary. Prior to each test the instructor will provide a study guide outlining material to be covered on the test. Additionally, adequate amount of class time will be allotted for test preparation.
Note: Talking and/or cheating during the test are strictly forbidden and will not be tolerated. Any student caught cheating will face disciplinary action and will automatically receive ZERO on the test.
Makeup Policy:
If students know they will be absent in advance, it is their responsibility to arrange to get assignments and make-up work before the next class.
